Fred. Olsen Cruises uses shore power
As the British shipping company Fred. Olsen announced, two of its three cruise ships, the Borealis and the Bolette, have taken the opportunity to use shore power in ports instead of having to run their ship's engines.
The Borealis was connected in San Francisco and the Bolette in Bergen for the first time at the end of April. According to the shipping company, shore power is to be used in all ports equipped with it from now on.
The Borealis is currently on an 80-day world tour, while the Bolette operates from Bergen in Norway.
