After resting due to the early morning arrival, we went for lunch at the Fischmarkt, a restaurant that is both inclusive and offers exclusive dishes. The entrance is on Deck 12, behind the Anckelmannplatz buffet restaurant. And there I had my first pleasant encounter, I met a colleague with whom I had already worked on the Mein Schiff 5. The food was served quickly, and drinks were also offered frequently.

After lunch, I left the ship for a tour of Dubai's souks. I had booked through Get your Guide. The Uber ride went smoothly, and the guide was relatively easy to find; there was only one German-speaking guide, so the other guides quickly directed me to him. There was a bottle of water, and then the walk began. First, our group was led through the Al Fahidi district. A kind of museum village has been created here; many buildings have been erected in the classic, original style. There was a coffee break with typical oriental coffee, very delicious, before we went through the various souks. It started with the Bur Dubai Souk, impressive, the hustle and bustle, the colourful displays, the smells. The tour took us across the Dubai Creek on an Abra to the spice and gold souks on the other side of the creek.

The tour lasted a good three hours in total, and we learned a great deal about Emirati culture. The guide was open and made a great effort to make the tour an experience for everyone. There was also adequate free time in each souk.

After returning from the Gold Souk, we took an Uber back to the ship. It was then time for dinner at the Atlantik Restaurant. The service was very good for me again, the waiting time was very short, so I even had to take a short break between courses.

After dinner, I was able to enjoy the pleasant temperature in the Aussenalster bar at my leisure, as well as the view of the city lights of Dubai and Sharjah.
