MSC Cruises: First cruise in 2026 from Kiel with the Euribia cancelled due to Middle East situation
MSC Cruises has cancelled the first cruise of the European season for the MSC Euribia, which was originally scheduled to depart from Kiel, Germany, on May 2, 2026.

The LNG-powered ship has been anchored in Dubai since the end of February and was scheduled for a seven-day cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. In a notice to booked guests, MSC explained that the cancellation is related to the current situation in the Middle East.
"The MSC Euribia was unable to leave the region as planned; consequently, its repositioning to Northern Europe has been delayed," MSC explained. "Therefore, the ship will not be able to undertake the first cruise of the season, and we regret to have to cancel your departure."
The cruise, which was also due to start from Copenhagen, was scheduled to call at three destinations in Norway: Flam, Hellesylt, and Ålesund.

MSC expressed understanding for the passengers' disappointment, emphasizing that the cancellation is a direct consequence of the ship's delay and not an arbitrary decision, made only after careful consideration of all possible alternatives.
Affected passengers are offered three options, including the possibility to transfer their bookings to any cruise departing by November 30, 2026, without a change fee. "For the same duration and accommodation, we guarantee you the most advantageous price between the original booking and the new one," MSC stated.
These guests will also receive a non-refundable onboard credit of up to 200 Euros per person. MSC also offers passengers the option to choose a cruise after December 1, 2026, also without a change fee. In this case, the price of the newly chosen cruise will apply, and all payments already made for the previous cruise will be transferred to the new cruise.
According to the notice, passengers also have the option to cancel their reservations without fees and receive a full refund.
