Breakfast

After a restful night during my Mein Schiff 2 Orient cruise, it was time for breakfast in the Atlantik restaurant. My favourite, because you are served at your table, but still have the choice of what you want to eat. The waiters present the selection at the table. Only my high coffee requirement was a small challenge for the service team. But I never had to wait long.

In the morning, I had booked and enjoyed a massage. Service and friendliness were also top-notch. And I can highly recommend the Thai oil massage, an hour of pure relaxation.

Lunch

Fittingly for the wellness massage, we then had lunch at the Ganz schön Gesund bistro. The restaurant offers dishes that are included in the cruise price, but also dishes that cost extra. The focus is on dishes and drinks prepared with reduced fat and sugar to offer a balanced diet.

And Excursion

In the afternoon, there was a shore excursion, this time booked through Tui Cruises. As Dubai is constantly changing, we went to the Sky View Dubai this time.

As is now usual with Tui Cruises, you receive a bus number via the app or the travel portal on the cabin TV. You are also given a meeting time. So I was well informed. When boarding the bus, your cabin card is scanned.

The excursion began with a trip to Sky View Dubai. Our guide gave some explanations about the history of the Emirates and Dubai. We had a guide who spoke very good German, which is not always the case. However, Tui Cruises also clearly points out that a tour may also take place in English.

On arrival at Sky View Dubai, we went up to the 53rd floor. The slide was included in the price. I was surprised how many people wanted to go down the slide. The slide is a glass tunnel that goes from the 53rd to the 52nd floor without any supports. You sit on a kind of carpet. And you have the best view of Dubai and directly downwards.

The view is fantastic and you can walk on glass, looking directly down. The elevators are also equipped with windows, so the journey itself is an experience.

Afterwards, it was a short drive to the Dubai Mall. A huge shopping palace, with shops for every taste. The food court also offers a Berlin Döner stand. The two hours there passed quickly, and we returned to the ship by bus through the traffic jam.

Dinner

On board, we went back to the Atlantik Restaurant for dinner. I like the offer there, to be served up to 5 courses.

Very tasty again for my taste, only the soup was a bit under-seasoned. The Norwegian smoked cheese was particularly noteworthy.

Later in the evening, there was music and cocktails in the Schaubar. It was difficult to get a seat on the outer decks.

The ship had now also set sail. It was on its way to Abu Dhabi. The distance was about 80 nautical miles. This section was a slightly shorter part of my Mein Schiff 2 Orient cruise.
