The last full day of the trip brought us back to Dubai. After the very relaxing day in Khasab, the vibrant metropolis of Dubai was once again up for sightseeing. Since the cityscape in Dubai changes more by the hour than by the year, we had booked an excursion in the morning. This excursion via Tui Cruises was supposed to lead us to Dubai's new attractions. From the ship, we boarded the excursion bus, which was not completely full. The journey first led to Blue Waters. This is an artificially created island. On it is, among other things, the Ain Dubai. At 250 metres high, it is the largest Ferris wheel in the world. The Ferris wheel is out of operation until further notice due to technical difficulties. Our guide told us about possible problems with the foundation.

After the stop, we continued to the palm, The Palm, to the viewing platform The Pointe. There too, we had about half an hour to get oriented. One could enjoy the view of the Atlantis Hotel. The villas that could be seen on the drive were impressive. The actual design as a palm tree is not noticeable when you are there.

The last stop is the pedestrian zone, almost as you know it from Germany. City Walk has a large fountain in the centre, and there are various restaurants and shops in the streets. As we were there in the morning, many restaurants were closed, but my favourite American diner was already open.

The return journey led to the vicinity of the airport. A new city district is already being built there. It will house the tallest building in the world. A tower is being built in Saudi Arabia. This tower is intended to be taller than the Burj Khalifa. Therefore, Dubai has to counter immediately. Back on board, there was only a refreshment.

In the afternoon, we wanted to go to the beach. The plan was La Mer, even though we had heard that the area was only partially accessible due to construction work. Upon arrival, it turned out that the beach was also not accessible due to construction measures. We then took an Uber to Jumeirah Beach below the Burj al Arab. In principle, using Uber via the app is quite easy in Dubai. There are enough drivers, so we never had to wait long on our journeys, no matter where we were.

It was relatively crowded on the beach, but we could still find a spot for a towel. Jumeirah Beach also has publicly accessible changing facilities.

After sunset, we went back on board and to the Atlantik Mediterran for the farewell dinner. So, farewell for now just for us, as there were guests on board who were ending their journey in Doha.

After dinner came the unfortunately unavoidable packing. The next morning, the Tui Cruises transfer was due to take us back to the airport.
